Ouzil provides wholesome, home made, nutritious recipes that meet FEDIAF (European Pet Food Industry) guidelines for all life stages, including growth of large-size Dogs. This means ouzil recipes provide balanced nutrition for all dogs & cats aged 8 weeks and older.

As a general guide its advisable to feed 2-3% of the dogs weight (if you have a young dog, then use the weight of when he/she is mature dog). Please note this is only a guide and alter according to weight and exercise levels.

This recipe has wild pheasant as the meat, along with broccoli, pepper, pumpkin and seasoned with rosemary. With our all natural additive to give your pet all the nutrients he/she needs.

Firstly chicken would be far easier for us to produce. Pheasant and chicken are both popular poultry options, but when comparing the two, pheasant emerges as the superior choice for a number of reasons. For us the main reason is higher welfare and a more sustainable way to farm, along with the higher nutrition pheasant and partridge offer.

Pheasant has slightly less total fat, saturated fat, and cholesterol compared to chicken. It also has more potassium, protein, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, iron, and zinc.

The higher amounts of B vitamins, iron, zinc, and potassium in pheasant make it more nutrient-dense than chicken. These nutrients are important for blood cell production, immune function, building proteins, and maintaining electrolyte balance.

To avoid overwhelming your pets digestive system, it’s important to transition food slowly by gradually mixing increasing amounts of the new food in with the old food. We’ve found a five day transition period works for most pets, but your pet could use more or less time depending on their previous diet.

Days 1-2: Scoop a small amount of Ouzil into your pets current food. (eg for a canine - 100g of a 400g meal)

Days 3: Mix 50% of your pets Fresh Ouzil portion with their current food.

Days 4: Mix 75% of their Fresh Ouzil portion with 25% of their current food.

Day 5: Serve 100% of their Fresh Ouzil portion.

Some pets may need more time to regulate during the transition, so feel free to add an extra day or two if there are any signs of distress (eg, abnormal poop or behavior). Take it slow, watch their signals, and adapt for a smooth transition.

Absolutely! The food is posted out fresh and cooked to order. We recommend storing your packs in the fridge, they will last up to 5 days unopened. But by all means freeze some if its more convenient.

You can freeze the food and it will keep for six months frozen. Before feeding, you can move pouches to your refrigerator to thaw over night.  Always remember to put any opened food pouches in a air tight container to preserve the freshness of the food.

 In the fridge, the food will be good to serve your pet for up to 5 days. We find it best served at room temperature. You can also warm the product either in the microwave or a pan.

We only use premium, human-grade ingredients in our fresh recipes. All of our meat, fruit, vegetables are carefully produced from scratch on the farm in East Anglia. Our products never use by-products, artificial flavors, artificial preservatives, or fillers like corn, wheat, and soy. Our ingredients are high quality, 100% natural and freshly cooked to order.

 Yes, most of our packaging is recyclable & compostable or made of recyclable material.

You can also help  by ordering larger amounts meaning less frequent orders, so we are sending more food less frequently to minimise your paw print on the planet, This helps minimise our paw-print on the planet. Although we already have a lowest carbon footprint as as everything is produced here on the farm.

We post orders out Monday to Thursday and aim to have the order to you 2-3 days after you place the order. We ship our freshly cooked food the day it is made wherever possible. At the latest it is posted the morning after it is cooked, so it is sent out as fresh as possible. After cooking it is allowed to cool and put in the postage boxes and kept refrigerated at a safe temperature till it reaches your door. We do not freeze as it’s all so fresh there is no need, you can then decide if you wish to freeze it or keep refrigerated.

 We do everything we can to ensure your food is delivered on the scheduled day. However, that date may change as a result of a major holiday or inclement weather.

On your delivery day, you will receive a time slot from Royal Mail or DPD. Don't worry if you're not in, you can ask them to leave your box in a secure place. Our packaging has been specially designed to keep your food safe during transit, we even use straw as the insulation rather than man made products. This also fully recyclable or reusable, simply compost when convenient or use as a mulch on garden flower beds. The straw can even be used as pet bedding.

With sustainability at the fore front of our minds on the farm, we constantly strive to do better for our environment.  This year we have planted new trees, hedgerows, and made more newt ponds. planted crops to help the wild insects and our bees (which produce the honey). We are red tractor assured so you can be confident when buying from us. To help us to minimise our carbon foot, we hand pick most of our fruit and vegetables. All the fields within a few miles of our kitchen on the farm. We send your deliveries via DPD or Royal Mail. We have chosen these postal services as DPD are a carbon-neutral courier, and Royal Mail will be by 2040, they both give time slots as well as allowing you to track your deliveries via their app or website.

No other pet food company comes close as we produce the ingredients here no buying in all ingredients from far a field sometimes not even within the UK. We feel people should know where the ingredients in the food is from and we offer the highest level of tracebility.

Firstly we are the only UK pet food manufacturer to produce their meat from start to finish.

We use selective breeding. For example our beef is from Dexter cattle which is a smaller breed and slowly developed. They live on fields full of wild flowers clover and natural hedgerows. We sell this meat to the public as it’s very tasty and has a much greater marbling than other breeds. Each of our cows has approximately 3 acres each to roam on , they live the most natural life possible and are never fed grains, so rest assure your buying the best meat possible. 

 We do not freeze our food. The day before delivery (or the morning of delivery whenever possible) we cook it fresh to order, chill it, and then to post to you it. The meals are placed in a straw insulated box with cold packs to ensure it arrives at your door ready for your pet to eat. When refrigerated the product must be fully consumed within 5 days to maintain freshness or frozen for upto six months.

If your pet doesn't require the whole pouch then simply portion using a kitchen scale, or a measuring cup—whichever method works best for you.
